Donation to Haiti Relief through L'Arche

 
Our newest Board member, Moe Smith, donates $500 to Gus Leuschner and Miriam MacDonald of L'Arche Antigonish to be used by their two homes in Haiti for food distribution to the wider community.  Nakhalu Callaghan-Patrachar of the Tall and Small Cafe holds one of our collection boxes.

Donation to Canadian Foodgrains Bank and two new restaurants

Investors Group

 

James MacDonnell, our Vice President (centre) receives a donation from John McLean, left, owner of Alex Thom's Pub and Mark Juurlink, both of the Investors Group.  They also gave away hot dogs and pop and added the proceeds to their donation.

Bishop Sue Moxley, one of our Board members, presents a check for $500 to Archbishop Fred Hiltz, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, for the Primates World Relief and Development Fund, to be directed to a grass root project through Action by Churches Together.  Jean Harrison, president, is holding one of our collection boxes.

Gardens for Grannies

Karen Schuegraf, our treasurer, presents our very first donation to Mary Coyle, a director of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, for Gardens for Grannies, which helps to feed many AIDS orphans.  Mary is the director of the Coady International Institute.  Kim Brake from the Alcove Bistro holds one of our collection boxes

Outreach in New Glasgow

As part of its outreach ministry program, St. George's Anglican Church in New Glasgow is working with an Antigonish based charity to place collection boxes in local eateries. The distribution of the boxes is under the direction of members of St. George's pastoral committee which includes Brenda MacLaughlin (chair), George Henaut and Susie Sangster.
